While arriving to sri lanka and departing you must do the PCR test and it should be withing 72 hours and the results must be negative. Air port and the staff will be fully sanitized and the all areas as well. There will be no quarantine at the arrival if symptoms not detected. PCR test should do in the airport but no charge. now it takes 24 hours to receive the results but government is trying to reduce it to 4-6 hours by august. In case if you have to wait 24 hours you can choose a five star ,four star hotel near colombo or negambo to stay for a night. A further test will be done by government officers after 4-5 days by co-coordinating your accommodation provider. if travelers stay more than 10 days they have to take a third test during their stay. in case any symptoms are detected or negative PCR results, then according to the case hospitalization or be in a designated hotel a must for 14 to 21 days.
Srilankan tourist board is announcing that arrange your transportation prior to the arrival with your certified accommodation provider and do not use public transportation. All the tourist sites will be open from the 1st of august to the tourists with the safety protocols. Moving from city to city is not prohibited for the tourists.
